COOPER COUNTY - The fall tradition of pumpkin picking was in full swing amidst Saturday's brisk temperatures.
Peach Tree Farm, near Wooldridge, celebrated its opening weekend. From now through the end of October, you can pick your own pumpkin, take a hayride, and even see Native American artifacts owners have found in the fields.
The farm's owner says he grows eight varieties of pumpkins of all different sizes.
"We have a lot of unusual stuff," pumpkin farmer Bruce Arnett said. "There's pumpkins with big stems that you can't find anywhere else. You know, a 30-pound pumpkin with a foot-long stem is kind of a neat thing and we've got a patch full of them."
Peach tree farm also has patches dedicated to three-pound pumpkins, which elementary schools from miles around come to visit on field trips each year.
