ST. LOUIS (AP) - More than 600 Missouri National Guard members will be sent to help support Louisiana's efforts to recover from Hurricane Gustav. Governor Blunt mobilized 120 Missouri National Guard troops including members of companies in Dexter, Portageville, Sikeston, Nevada and Lamar. They were scheduled to leave for Louisiana today. Those troops will join more than 500 Guard members already on their way to Louisiana, including a task force of military police from across the state. Missouri is also ready for evacuees at eight shelters around the state if need be.
