COLUMBIA - Thanksgiving is here and that means plenty of food, fun, and preperation. However there are those individuals who have yet to prepare.
Last minute shoppers are crowding grocery stores across the nation and Columbia is no different.
"It's been pretty hectic," says Schnucks manager Aaron Neugarten.
"Lots of people coming in and out getting their last minute thanksgiving, and some of them actually getting their whole shopping done all at once."
Neugarten says that the store has been doing a good job keeping shelves stocked despite shoppers doing their best to clean them out.
Local shopper Sarah McElroy says she's shopping last minute for many reasons.
"No room in the refrigerator, work full time, other things that I'm doing, and I wanted to get a fresh turkey." Neugarten says that popular items this year include a variety of pumpkin dishes, cranberries and of course turkey.
For those who still haven't gotten their shopping done, no worries, several stores including Wal-Mart, Gerbes, and Hy-Vee will be open to assist customers.
