COLUMBIA - MU Chancellor Brady Deaton wrote a letter to the university community about Saturday's planned march by Neo-Nazi's.
Community volunteers and MU students, faculty and staff have designed a positive “Spark in the Park event in Douglass Park to take place from noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday. I invite all members of the Mizzou family to join with our Columbia neighbors in making the event a success. In addition, the Jewish Student Organization / Hillel has started a Web site to provide information on community events and to raise funds to support local and national groups that promote diversity. The Web site address is www.tolerance.homestead.com <http://www.tolerance.homestead.com> . Let us work together to make this weekend a time in which we can all celebrate the diversity on our campus, in our community and around the world as we rededicate ourselves to promoting understanding and tolerance now and in the future.
