BOONE COUNTY - The criminal trial for a man accused of killing four Missouri women ended Wednesday.

A Boone County jury acquitted George Albright for charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Albright's truck caused an eight car pile-up on I-70 in Callaway County in June 2006. Four Kansas City women died in the accident. The women were on their way to a wedding anniversary. Albright's employer was found liable for negligence in an April civil case.

One of the survivors of the accident, Zoe Smith, finds the not guilty verdict hard to take.

"I cannot reconcile the fact that he was found, well that the company was found negligent and yet he's found not guilty," said Smith.

Smith's car was totaled in the accident, causing injuries to her foot and neck. She was a plaintiff in another civil suit that ended in December against the trucking company.
