Medical services transported 33-year-old Cornelius Williams to Central Region Medical Center because of a gunshot wound to the neck. Medical personnel then airlifted Williams to University Hospital in Columbia.

Jefferson City Police arrested 48-year-old Stephen L. Cook in connection with the shooting.  Cook is now in the Cole County Jail.  The Jefferson City Police Department communications center received several 911 calls reporting a fight and possible gunshots at about 6 p.m.

Williams' current medical condition is unknown.
