COLUMBIA - The lake opens to fishermen and provides an array of different species to catch.
While driving south of Columbia on Highway 63, you might have noticed the big lake off to the side. Have you ever wondered if there were big fish in there?
Columbia Parks and Recreation opened Bristol Lake today.
It is located on the "Philips Property" North of Gans Road, west of Highway 63. The forty-acre lake sits on a 140-acre trac of land.
People fish for bass, catfish, and crappie at the lake and it's already getting good reviews.
Fisherman Jeff Cues says, "I was fishing [at the lake] for the past hour and I caught two nice-size bass, and the people next to me caught some crappie, and I also imagine there's some big catfish to be had."
There is no charge at Bristol Lake, swimming is not allowed.
