One viewer wants to know information about weather that has occured in the past.
Each of our KOMU's weather segments during the newscast is about three minutes long. But one viewer said something's missing during those three minutes.
Richard wrote us to say "in the past, they would give the daily high and low, the records and the daily precipitation, and the month to date precipitation and they don't do any of that anymore. And I just want to know why."
KOMU News Director Stacey Woelfel said changing technology has to do with the change in weather coverage.
"There was a time when the weathercast really had to have all things for all people and have that weather data in it. Now most people pick that up online if they're interested. We have tried to make the weathercasts more forward-looking, so they're looking at what's happening now and what's coming in the day or night ahead and right on out eight days. And so, we just don't really have time for that data anymore," Woelfel said.
