BOONE COUNTY - At approximately 7:30 this morning, deputies responded to the 5800 block of Kent Drive for the report of a disturbance involving a knife.
After arriving at the scene, deputies say 27-year-old Makala Turner of Columbia was holding one of her family members at bay against their will with two butcher knives. Deputies say Turner was intoxicated during this time.
Turner has been arrested on counts of felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon, and domestic assault. She is now in custody at the Boone County Jail.
