JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Governor Blunt is looking to strengthen the bond between government and religious groups providing social services. Blunt launched his "Faith-Based Missouri" initiative on Thursday by creating a five-person team to study how the state can improve relationships with religious and community-based charities. Several members of the new group are to travel around the state meeting with leaders of Missouri churches and charities. The Republican governor says religious groups often can do a better job of meeting human needs than the government can alone.
