COLUMBIA - Students from 18 college campuses arrived this evening to see Barack Obama speak at the University of Missouri.
Students from Truman State in Kirksville arrived in high spirits to hear Obama speak.
Truman State Coordinator Saed Hill said this spirit, and technology, helped make the trip to Columbia easy.
"We threw it together pretty much, but Facebook is an amazing thing as we all know. So basically, chain just like Barack Obama does, you text your friends, mail your friends through Facebook, and we got it going," Hill said.
According to Hill, more than 80 students were in attendance.
With five days before the election, this is one of the last opportunities for Missouri students to hear Obama speak.
Students from schools as far as Springfield and St. Joseph were bused for this event. Many of these students have anxiously been waiting in line since early Thursday evening.
And they say it's worth it.
"I drove three hours to see him today and I'm going to see him in my hometown Saturday. I've seen him before. Every single time it has been totally worth all the trouble," Springfield Student Laura Ransin.
Trouble that Hill said he would also go through again.
"When I heard this was going down, I haven't seen him yet live. So I figured this is the last opportunity the election is coming to a close, so I need to get on this now. Get as many people as possible to come out here," Hill said.
