FULTON - Sunday morning, a fire started in an apartment building in Fulton at 511 East 8th St.

Fulton Fire Department responded to the fire and found smoke coming out of the west wall of the complex. Firefighters extinguished the fire within minutes. Search and Rescue crews searched the apartments to make sure residents existed the building. The fire displaced a father and child, who sought temporary housing.Firefighters say an electrical malfunction in a light switch caused the fire.They estimate damages at more then $15,000.
