COLUMBIA - The Missouri School of Journalism hosted a debate Thursday between Attorney General Candidates Michael Gibbons and Chris Koster.

The two men worked together in the Senate and became friends over the years. But in politics, they don't agree on issues like the Sunshine Law and Shield Laws.

The candidates do agree on several issues, including cracking down on illegal immigration, the no-call initiative, eminent domain, a non-partisan option for electing judges in the state, and fighting cyber crimes and drugs, especially a system to make sure meth producers can't get their hands on the ingredients.

"That needs to be fully implemented , that has been slow in affirmation if that is not successful then we need to call that a schedule substance so it would only be available by subscription," Gibbons said.

Koster agreed.

"Last year I proposed  the Methamphetamine Act. It is the broadest approach to methamphetamine that we have ever seen during General Assembly because you can hit this thing from just education or just law enforcement," Koster said.
