MOBERLY - Early Sunday morning, a Moberly police officer was flagged down by a 35-year-old Huntsville man, near the intersection of Coates and Fourth St.
The man reported that he and another man had been assaulted and robbed by several people in the 500 block of Johnson St.
During the robbery, the 35-year-old victim was stabbed in the back of the head. The victim was later transported to MRMC by RCAD for treatment. Officers contacted the second man, a 38-year-old Moberly man, in the 600 block of Concannon. This victim had been assaulted too.
An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during the robbery. During the investigation, four suspects were identified and located.
The suspects, two 22-year-old black males and a 17-year-old black male of Moberly and a 19-year-old white male of Excello, were taken into custody.
All suspects were charged with 1st degree armed robbery and a bond was set by Associate Circuit Judge Cynthia Suter at $100,000 cash each. All the suspects were released on Jan. 6, 2008 at around 10:30 p.m. with pending formal charges being issued by the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney.
