The Consumer Product Safety Commission says two fireworks distributed by a Kansas company have been voluntarily recalled.

The "March or Die" shell was recalled due to tubing that could loosen and cause the firework to become unstable and pose a burn hazard.

The "300 Shot Saturn Missile Battery" firework with a Boomer Distributors logo was also recalled.

Bob's Fireworks in Columbia sells a product similar to one of the recalled fireworks, but insists its fireworks have not been recalled.

"It's a different manufacturer from China," said Bob's Fireworks co-owner Cherie Rasmussen.

One of the companies involved in the recall says it worked to collect the faulty product before anyone was injured by it.

"We were aware that there may be an issue with this product," said Cindy Vesco, a spokesperson from Jake's Fireworks Inc. "We recalled it ourselves, and then we worked with the consumer product safety commission to do an all out recall."

Experts agree that it is important to exercise caution when using fireworks this Fourth of July. They suggest shooting off the fireworks from a firm base, and having water near by.

The "March or Die" shell costs $40, and the "300 Shot Saturn Missile Battery" costs $10.
