The Tiger football team had a ton of fantastic plays this past season. So, the KOMU 8 Sports Department looked through the tapes and came away with an official list of the best plays. We call it the Top Ten Plays.
Play number 10: This where the countdown starts and All-American Jeremy Maclin leads us off. He snags the pass in the back of the end zone and somehow gets his toe down. Further review says...Amazing play.
Play number 9: In the fourth quarter in Waco, Texas the Tigers in a tight contest against Baylor. Chase Daniel lofts it to Chase Coffman and he does what he always does... A great catch in the corner of the end zone.
Play number 8: Jeremy Maclin says anything Chase can do, I can do too! In a game against Kansas State, J-Mac makes a leaping catch for the touchdown.
Play number 7: Things get a little bit tricky. Chase Daniel to Maclin, then back to Daniel, he finds Derrick Washington in the end zone. This shifty play left Southeast Missouri wondering, which way did he go?
Play number 6: Time to show the defense some love. In Lincoln, Brock Christopher picked off Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz and returned it for a 6-pack of points. That was just part of the Tigers breaking the Lincoln losing streak.
Play number 5: The unstoppable running of Derrick Washington. He refuses to go down on this 52 yarder and helps the Tigers clinch another Big 12 North title.
Play number 4: Sean Weatherspoon returned a pick for a touchdown the first week of the season. Then he showed against SEMO its no fluke, and he does it again!
Play number 3: So good it didn't lead to any points but still makes the poll. Coffman stiff arms about half of the Nevada Wolfpack defense on this rambling run. Saying to the entire Nevada defense, "Get out of my way."
In play number 2: Jeremy Maclin returns to the poll. He returns a kickoff against Illinois and goes all the way. The return totaled 99 yards and put the Tigers back on top of the Illini for good.
Play number 1: No doubt about it, Daniel to Coffman. You're supposed to use two hands, but he does it with one. Colorado was left clue less and the fans in awe. Chase Coffman's one hander for a Touchdown, The Missouri football play of the year.
