CAPE GIRARDEAU - A southeast Missouri lawmaker wants to ban police cameras that record drivers who run red lights at intersections.
Some Missouri communities, like Arnold and Florissant near St. Louis, use stoplight cameras to record violators, then send them tickets in the mail. But, Republican state Sen. Jason Crowell is sponsoring a bill next session to shut down such cameras. Crowell says there's already too much Big Brother in state government. And vehicle owners get the tickets, even if they're not the drivers who ran the red lights.
