This game came with a lot of hype. There was a massive Mizzou pep rally Friday night along with a morning broadcast for ESPN. College Game Day broadcast live from the parking lot Saturday morning. Kansas was considered the home team for the game at Arrowhead, but the crowd appeared to be evenly split in the stands.

With this win, Missouri will play Oklahoma in a rematch at the Big 12 Championship in San Antonio next week. With an 11-1 record, Oklahoma is the team's only loss on this season. Missouri has never accomplished an 11 win season nor a chance to attend the Big 12 Championship. This is also the team's first chance to possibly reach the BCS Championship Game.
