CAPE GIRARDEAU (AP) - Southeast Missouri State will provide relief to help students in an aging dorm make it through the heat of late summer. With temperatures in Cape Girardeau expected to reach around 100 degrees yet again, the university is renting temporary air conditioning equipment for Dearmont residence hall. The trailer-mounted equipment will be in place for the first month of the semester, blowing cool air into the building through flexible ducts. The university will spend about $30,000 to rent the equipment that is expected to be up and running by tomorrow. About 1,200 freshmen are expected to move into campus residence halls today. Dearmont is the only dorm without air conditioning.
