MOBERLY - Temperatures continue to drop Tuesday night.
Slick roads on Highway 24 could become more dangerous as rain turns into snow Tuesday night. Crews already dumped salt and sand on the roadways because they say it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when this snow comes.
"We're preparing, we've been putting salt and sand mixtures down on overpasses, hills and intersections, trying to get prepared for when it freezes this evening," Moberly Public Works Director Tom Sanders said.
Sanders' advice to drivers: where there's a covering of snow just assume there is ice on the road beneath, and proceed with caution.
