MOBERLY - The family of taser victim filed a suit against the Moberly Police Department.

The family is still waiting for investigation results.

Ten weeks ago, 23-year-old Stanley Harlan died after being tasered by a Moberly Police Officer.

Answers to what went wrong are still hard to find.

"I just want him back.  I want him to come home," Harlan's mother said after losing her son.

It's been ten weeks since his death, and not much has changed for the Harlan family.

"They've taken something away from our family that should have never happened," Amber Maley, the victim's  brother said.

Moberly Police Department still said its actions were necessary.

"In order to stop his physical resisting, the officer, one of the officers on the scene deployed a taser," Commander Kevin Palmatory said.

Within the last few weeks, they've hired an attorney to make their case in court.

"We have obtained a lawyer and filed civil suits against the City of Moberly and the five police officers who were involved," Maley said.

The pending lawsuit has made it difficult for the Harlan's and their supporters to get any answers. Despite the City's inability to comment, Harlan supporters keep asking questions. They're still waiting for the result of the State Highway Patrol's investigation and the autopsy report.
