KANSAS CITY - It's a love story you have to see to believe and it was right in the middle of the buildup to Saturday's big MU-KU game.
One couple took a timeout to put aside their schools' rivalry, at least for one day.
Not even the freezing cold could keep fans at Arrowhead stadium from sharing a winning premonition.
"It's a rivalry that's gone on forever. I hate KU!" Missouri fan Katie Van Arsdell said.
A No. 3 team playing No. 2, but now MU is No. 1.
"I hate the Jayhawks. I mean, boo Jayhawks!" Missouri fan Fred Buckman said.
But get past the noise, and there is another match in the making. Kansas fan Cara Wiser became engaged to her new fiancee, Jason, a Missouri fan.
"And he's like, 'Well, come here' and I'm like, 'You're kidding.' And he had the ring in one of the benches in the bus, and I found it and finally two and a half years later!" Wiser said.
A call to mom made it official.
"She just said, 'Give Jason a big hug and tell him I love him,'" Wiser said.
And then of course those inevitable arguments, such as whether their kids will be Tigers or Jayhawks.
It's said this game was the match of a lifetime. Turns out one's already been made.
