KANSAS CITY - Missouri is only one win away from playing for a National Championship. The Tigers got here with some help from unusual sources.

How do you celebrate the biggest win in Missouri football history, ruining the Kansas perfect season and making you number one for the first time in 47 years?

"It's great, it's good. I don't know what you want me to do. Jump up and do a back flip? I can't do that," said head coach Gary Pinkel.

But don't be surprised if the Tigers quarterback can, he does everything else. Chase Daniel connected on 40 of 49 passes for 361 yards. It was all part of the game plan.

"Throw it, and throw it, and throw it. We wanted to, the first 15 or 16 plays on the script were to throw," said Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel.

Mission accomplished. Daniel throws three touchdowns and put himself front and center in the chase for the Heisman Trophy.

"I'll be the first one to tell you this guy is special. I've been telling you for a year and a half. America got to see today how special he is. What a remarkable competitor and what a great play maker. How often does he make plays?" said Pinkel.

"He came out and controlled the game. He was a general out there and he was dissecting the defense," said Missouri senior tight end Martin Rucker.

Daniel, with more weapons than a pawn shop, went deep into the vault to find Danario Alexander... His 8 catches for 117 yards are season highs.

"Danario was unbelievable. He was open all night and he was making plays down the field. He made an unbelievable play of the first one. He got it and ran it in," said Daniel.

"Everybody gets so prepared for the guys you hear from all the time. Coffman and Franklin and Maclin, and Danario is a great player and he just gets caught in the wash a little bit and then he comes in and has a game like this and hurts you," said Rucker.

On a night when the Tigers beat their rivals, won the Big 12 North conference and staked their claim to number one in the nation, Lorenzo Williams still took time to stop and honor 25.

"We always say his name. It doesn't even have to be said, you always know what is going on. Anytime you come out with a big win like this you always got to thank everyone. I strongly believe he helped us so I had to go give thanks to him," said Missouri senior defensive tackle Lorenzo Williams.

"How about my Tigers," said Pinkel.

How about them. They're knocking on the door of playing for the National Championship.
