The Seattle Times reports that sources close to the presidential search confirmed the selection. University regents meeting Wednesday at noon to announce the successor to the current president who retires in June.
Floyd is a North Carolina native who spent three years at Eastern Washington University. He became executive vice president during his time there. Before becoming the president of the University of Missouri system in November 2002, Floyd was the president of Western Michigan University.
University of Missouri officials have been hush on the subject of Floyd's departure.
