COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department has confirmed the recovery of six additional bodies from the Warren Funeral Chapel in Columbia.
The remains were discovered and turned over to investigators around noon Friday.
A judge closed the chapel this week due to evidence showing improper care of remains left there for burial or creamation.
State Attorney General investigators reported last week that the home had been under investigation for improper storage and handling of remains. At that time, investigators say they had removed bodies from the home that families believed had already been buried or creamated.
