AUXVASSE - This week is the 49th Annual Loafer's Week.

It's held every late winter to give friends and neighbors time to catch up on what they've been doing during the cold season.

For Auxvasse natives who have moved to other cities for jobs, it's a homecoming to see familiar faces.

All week from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. you can play cards, board games, and dominoes while enjoying free coffee, tea, and peanuts.

A noon meal will also be served daily. Tuesday's lunch is at the Fulton Masonic Lodge No. 48 where fried chicken will be served starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday's lunch is at the Fulton Senior Center with pork and dressing. Thursday's meal will be at the Auxvasse Community Hall Association serving turkey and dressing. The Light House Church will have a ham dinner on Friday, and Saturday the Auxvasse Lions Club will serve pancakes from at 8 a.m. until noon.
