ASHLAND - Kids and parents gathered at the Southern Boone County Library in Ashland Saturday to participate in Lego Mania.
The event began a summer program intended to promote the American Library Association's summer theme, "be creative with books".
Since popularity was so high, the library decided to continue the event into the fall.
Parents say Lego Mania is a creative way to get kids involved and excited about reading.
"Using their creativity, the books open their world of creativity and so this lets them manipulate legos and use that creativity," parent Gina Royal said.
Lego Mania is free to all ages.
The library provides legos along with other arts and crafts.
Lego Mania will continue every month as long as interest is still high.
