JEFFERSON CITY - Wake and funeral arrangements have been set for 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten, who was found dead Friday after a two-day search.

Authorities say a 15-year-old currently faces first degree murder charges for Olten's death.

Her wake is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard funeral home in Jefferson City. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Concord Baptist Church. According to her obituary, a horse-drawn carriage will take Olten to her final resting place at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Olten was a student at Pioneer Elementary School, and counselors will be available this week to help students, parents, faculty and staff cope.

The Jefferson City Board of Education will host a closed-door meeting at 10 a.m. Monday at 315 East Dunklin Street. Missouri's Sunshine Law validates the closed-door nature due to the circumstances of the situation. Superintendent Brian Mitchell said the meeting is mainly informational, and does not expect any formal decisions to be made.
