CENTRALIA - The Centralia Anchor Festival is celebrating 22 years this weekend.
The area Chamber of Commerce expects 15,000 to 20,000 people to attend. That poses some problems for Centralia Police, and they're getting help.
"We're working with the Boone County Sheriff's Office and Missouri Highway Patrol. Joint effort," Cpl. Paul Morgan of the Centralia Police said. "We appreciate their assistance. Audrain County is a close agency and they're been in the area as well."
Centralia is the anchor capital of the world because the city's AB Chance factory led the way in the supply technology.
Admission to the anchor fest is free.
