Michael Jackson's passing not only shook fans, it shook the internet as well.

Slowing down AOL's instant messaging system, doubling the number of tweets per second on Twitter, tripling the average number of Facebook status updates.

A whopping 31 million people tuned in to watch his funeral, the second most watched funeral behind Princess Diana.

But here in mid-Missouri at least one viewer wishes Michael Jackson stories would just beat it.

"I'm getting tired of turning your radio on and hearing about Michael Jackson all the time. Michael Jackson," said Bill. "That's getting old. How about putting some Farrah Fawcett history on there? She tried to help with the cancer fight and so forth and you're giving her very little coverage. And she's more of an icon than Michael Jackson ever will be."

"Initial research ranging from internet research to TV ratings shows that Michael Jackson's death was an enormously popular story and that people followed it very closely," said Jim Spencer with Newsy.com. "While some people thought it was overdone, there's a Pew study that came out just this past week that showed that audience interest in the story actually exceeded the amount of news coverage that was given to it."
