OXFORD, Miss. - Missouri Ace Kyle Gibson threw 103 pitches in eight innings and eight strikeouts but was only throwing in the mid 80's.

"My forearm has been tightening up a little bit just from the long season," said Kyle Gibson, Missouri Jr. Pitcher.

"He didn't have his fastball but he had command of his off speed pitches so it is just a testament to how good those pitches are," said Tim Jamieson, Missouri Baseball Coach.

"I thought I could go seven, eight or nine innings it was going to help the team out because we do have two games. There are some guys on the team that have good enough arms that if they throw one inning in the first game they can go the second game. But I knew if they threw today they weren't going to be able to do that. I just went out there and battled and to give the team a chance to win a regional I had to go deep into the game and that is just something i did," said Gibson.

Kyle Gibson tied former Tiger Max Schzer with 130 strikeouts overall.

Missouri faces the loser of Ole Miss and Western Kentucky tomorrow at 1 p.m.
