OXFORD, Miss. - The MU baseball team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament Sunday with an 11-6 loss to Western Kentucky.

The Hilltoppers started fast and never looked back, scoring seven runs in the first two innings to open up a comfortable lead.

The Tigers did have 14 hits on the day, but could only manage three runs off Hilltoppers starter Matt Hightower, who went five innings.  Evan Teague pitched four innings of relief for Western Kentucky, who advances to the regional championship game to play Mississippi later Sunday.  If Western Kentucky wins, they will play the Rebels again Monday for a chance to go to the Super Regionals.

Greg Folgia, Aaron Senne, Trevor Coleman, Kyle Mach and Michael Liberto each had two or more hits for the Tigers.

Although the MU offense racked up hits, the pitching struggled.  Ian Berger lasted just 1.2 innings, giving up seven earned runs.  The bullpen gave up four more.

Western Kentucky beat MU 11-5 in the opening round of the regional as well.  The Tigers finished the season 35-27.
