Like height, age, and body type. Family history is also important. And one weight doesn't fit everyone at that height. Doctors suggest trying to lose a percentage of weight in six months. And then once that's achieved, set a new goal.
Go Red for Women
Maybe you noticed or maybe you didn't, but today is all about wearing red. The American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" movement is raising awareness of heart disease in women. It's the number one killer of women. Doctors say it's crucial for young women to get into heart healthy habits early in life. Exercise, quitting smoking, and getting to a healthy weight all reduce the risk for heart disease.
H1N1 Update
The CDC says the Swine Flu is slowing down. That's a big change from just two months ago. But the CDC says the virus is still rampant. The latest data shows 70 percent of Americans are vaccinated against H1N1. Experts at the CDC say because the virus is still circulating, now is the time to take advantage of the vaccine.
