ROLLA- Wet conditions forced football practice inside earlier this week, but the Rolla Bulldogs aren't letting the weather interfere with preparing for their upcoming game.
The Rolla High School football team is trying to keep things as normal as possible despite its 9 - 0 record. The undefeated season could be attributed to the stylings of new coach, Josh Smith and an emphasis on team play.
Coach Smith says one of his keys to success is an unselfish football team. "We don't really have a star, we just have a bunch of good kids and good football players." Smith said.
Being together on and off the field contributes to their success.
"I think just being together almost our whole lives as far as playing as a team has helped a lot." Senior wide receiver Gavin Otte said.
The team has worked hard and practiced a lot to get where they are now, and a growing fan base is exciting for the players.
"Every game more and more people get excited, so we're getting good." Senior center Jon Fish said.
For now, the team is keeping an eye on the ball, and a potential state title. The Bulldogs will play Camdenton this Friday in the last regular season game before heading to the play-offs.
