COLE COUNTY - A dam at Renns Lake is in danger of bursting and area residents must find a different way to and from their homes, Cole County officials said Thursday night.
Crews are working to relieve pressure on the dam by pumping water over the spillway.
Residents who live near the lake should take Idlewood to Renns Lake Road to get home. Renns Lake Road is closed at Highway 54 and Cody Road near the Tractor Supply. Drivers will not be able to access Renns Lake Road from these points.
The area is just south of the Jefferson City city limits along Highway 54.
