LAKE OF THE OZARKS (AP) - The Missouri Water Patrol will try again next year with legislation to crack down on people operating boats while drunk. State lawmakers ended their annual session yesterday without voting on a bill that would have lowered the blood-alcohol limit for boating while intoxicated from .10 to .08. It also would have stiffened the punishment for offenders. Missouri has the highest number of arrests for boating while intoxicated. Representative Rodney Schad, a Republican from Versailles, sponsored the bill in the House. He tried to add it at the last minute to another measure dealing with liquor control, but it was killed. Schad says he'll bring it back next year.
