COLUMBIA - Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee visited Columbia Thursday evening, but not to talk about politics.
The visit was first scheduled months ago, well before the former Arkansas governor dropped out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Huckabee will instead speak on issues of ethics and issues in medical care.
Huckabee stopped in Jefferson City just before Super Tuesday in February. He led Missouri for most of the night on Super Tuesday until Sen. John McCain, now the presumptive GOP nominee, pulled ahead at the end of the night.
Columbia College administrators expect an overflow crowd. They say Missourians identify with Huckabee's Midwestern mentality.
Huckabee will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. The house will open at 6:30 p.m. Parking is available right across the street from Launer Auditorium.
