CLARK - An SUV heading north on Highway 63 hit Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper Brad Holman at the intersection of Route P near Clark late Friday night.

An ambulance transported Holman to University Hospital in Columbia. Holman was released Saturday morning.

Three people were in the northbound SUV. Bobbie Williams was also taken to University Hospital, where he remains listed in good condition. The hospital says the condition of the other occupants are not known.

The Highway Patrol says that they must respond to every accident, but the accident tends to hit closer to home when it's one of their own.

The KOMU 8 News reporter on the scene says the driver side door of the patrol car was hit.
