JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Governor Blunt has replaced his top legal counsel, just two weeks after replacing his chief of staff. Blunt's office confirms that Henry Herschel was replaced as the governor's legal counsel by Lowell Pearson, the deputy director of the Department of Revenue. Shortly before Thanksgiving, Blunt named Revenue Department Director Trish Vincent as his new chief of staff. She replaced Ed Martin, who had increasingly come under criticism. Martin and Herschel were central figures in the firing of former governor's office attorney Scott Eckersley and the controversy over the deletion of some e-mails by Blunt's office. A spokeswoman for Blunt says Herschel will be an administrative-law judge handling workers' compensation cases.
