COLUMBIA - Football Saturdays for fans start well before the game kicks off with tailgating evolving year after year.

In 2004, one group of guys took their own spin on tailgating when they bought a school bus with $2,500 and a dream.

"We went down to St. James, Missouri and we looked a couple diesels and this is a gas powered one so when we saw that we just said let's get it," said co-owner Todd Neimeyer.

The owners turned the 1990 GMC blue bird into the ultimate tailgating machine.

"We named it last year. We named it Zoubus. We take it on road games," stated Neimeyer.

"First of all you have to have a passion for Missouri football," explained co-owner Brock Paalhar.

Passionate because three of the five owners, Todd Neimeyer, Mike Morris and Ben Davidson all played for the Tigers.

"You have no knowledge of what's going on outside this. So when I got done playing... It was like a step inside a different world you know," said Neimeyer.

"We probably have a little below $20,000 on the bus. We wouldn't sell it. There's a lot more that goes into this bus than money," explained Paalhar.

The Zoubus owners collect signatures all over the ceiling of their bus. Brad Smith, Chase Daniel and even Coach Pinkel made their marks on the Zoubus.

"A lot of old football players... Former tigers, former coaches, former players. We'd have them sign the ceiling. Larry Smith is on here. We have a lot of the Tigers that played in the late 90's," stated Paalhar.

The bus draws a crowd with its tables, a bar and synthetic turf on the floor, but when the game starts the Zoubus gets the fans ready.

"We announce the tailgate starting lineups. We get everybody on the bus. We have a little fog storm," explained Paalhar.

"We're not players anymore. We're fans... So let's be the best fans we can be. Let's amplify the atmosphere around the stadium... Let's just take it to another level... What better way to do that than an awesome tailgating bus," stated Neimeyer.

Along with Neimeyer, Morris, and Davidson Brock Paalhar and Chris Ball are the other co-owners of the best party bus on campus.
