JEFFERSON CITY - Tax Day Tea Party protesters gathered for the second day in a row at the capitol in Jefferson City Wednesday.
Tax protesters are using tax filing day to draw attention to their cause all over the country and right here in mid-Missouri.
The Central Missouri Tax Day Tea Party was all part of a coordinated effort to show displeasure with government spending.
Local event coordinators said they're taking their cues from Glenn Beck, Newt Gingrich and other conservatives, who've been urging Americans to protest.
Protesters had the opportunity to voice their concerns on an open mic.
Lawmakers like Republican Representative Cynthia Davis, Democrat Representative J.C. Kuessner, and Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder also addressed the crowd.
There were Tax Day Tea Parties all over the state including Kansas City, St. Louis and Kirksville.
Protesters Tuesday got an early start to the nationwide protest. It featured a Boston-Tea-Party-like boat with protesters throwing tea off board. Wednesday, there was more of a serious tone.
