The Follow-up Files begins with the Dale Helmig murder case that got national attention this past weekend.
The Dale Helmig murder case got national attention this past weekend on America's Most Wanted. Helmig, from nearby Osage County, was convicted in 1996 for murdering his mother three years before. The defense team wants the Missouri Supreme Court to allow D-N-A testing in the case. Specifically, looking for D-N-A traces on the mom's bed sheet. D-N-A testing was not available in the original trial. Fulton police are offering a reward for information.

Still nothing new on the gas pipeline explosion that rocked Howard County two weeks ago last night. Phone calls to Panhandle Eastern were not returned last night or today. Last week we reported investigators were still on the scene, a few miles south of Fayette. We'll update the cause of the explosion as soon as we hear something. No one was hurt.

Finally, a South Dakota high school has a new tiger logo. It seems the school's last tiger logo looked to much like the Mizzou tiger logo. Someone from M-U called the Harrisburg, South Dakota school district and said you're guilty of a trademark violation. So the South Dakota School held a contest to draw a new tiger logo.
