HERMANN- The Centralia football team is having a stand out season. They are entering the playoffs undefeated, but the team is more than just the players on the field. Meet a part of the team you may not have seen before.

Even when there's plenty of water coming out of the sky, these girls make sure the Centralia football team is hydrated.

"We're in charge of making sure everything is ready in the locker room when we first get here, and we fill up water bottles and water jugs, and then we go out and set the field up," Centralia football manager Andi Blackwell said.

Andi, Savannah, Anna, Kelsey and Sloane are the managers for the Panthers, but they aren't the firsts. These two got the job thanks to some special alumni.

"I thought it sounded fun, and I'm friends with a lot of the guys and stuff. The girls, they're fun to be around and I wanted to do it because my sister did it," Blackwell said.

"Andi and I have been friends since fourth grade and our sisters were always really good friends through school. So, we've always hung out with our sisters," Savannah Angell said.

So now that they're part of the team, the girls say it's a lot more fun than just following coaches' orders.

"I've learned a lot about football, because I have three sisters and no brothers. Just learned a lot about the sport and didn't really know anything until this year," said Angell.

"Basically just being around the people. It's fun being a part of the football team, especially since we're doing good this year. It's fun to say we're a part of it," said Blackwell.

So, Andi and Savannah, and the other three managers will do their part to help the Panthers through the postseason.

The Panthers begin their postseason run on Wednesday against South Callaway
