COLUMBIA - Monday kicked off the judging for the "America in Bloom" program.
"America in Bloom" is a national program promoting beautification, cleanliness and environmental efforts in communities across America.
The Columbia Recycling Center was one of the stops on the tour Monday. With pen and paper in hand, judges received a guided tour through the center and examined different ways Columbia's trash gets recycled.
"You look at the community, you look at what resources are available in the community and how all parts of the community function," said judge Matt Rosen.
The judging runs through Tuesday. For a complete schedule of where the tour will run, click on the link included.
