JEFFERSON CITY - Stimulus funds coming to Missouri are finally here.

Missouri received $223 million from the $787 billion stimulus package on Thursday.

Lieutenant Governor Pete Kinder said on Wednesday he was worried where the stimulus money might be going. Two new accounts were made to keep track of where the money is spent.

One account is called the Federal Budget Stabilization Fund. This account is where Missouri's $223 million was received Thursday was placed. That money came from the Federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid services.

The other fund is called the Federal Stimulus Fund.

Now lawmakers say these new accounts will show where the money is spent. Governor Jay Nixon has said before he wants these payments to be as transparent as possible.
