COLUMBIA - Rock Bridge guard Ricky Kreklow wins the Best Three Point Shooter in mid-Missouri Basketball.

Ricky Kreklow's nickname is "Pop-a-Shot."

"Actually it was Isiah Warren that gave it to me because I'm out here during open gym as a freshman and didn't really hold back much," Kreklow said. "Probably just came in and shot a little bit more than I should of."

Ricky Kreklow still lives up to the name.

A sharp shooter by trade, Kreklow says half court isn't out of his range.

"I think I could," he said. "I got pretty good touch on the half court shot. Just go for the glass, leave the ball right on the front of the rim and hope for the best."

Kreklow says the shot is all about mechanics, a lesson his dad, Wayne, taught him.

"As I was growing up, he wouldn't let me shoot threes until the mechanics were right," Kreklow said.

His mechanics are so solid, he'd rather take a deep three over the old fashioned three point play.

"I'd probably take the open three, probably a higher percentage shot for me right now," Kreklow said.
