COLUMBIA-- The Missouri Basketball team gets ready to play their first pre-season game this Friday.
The Missouri Basketball Team will play its first of two exhibition games when they host Truman state Friday night at Mizzou Arena. Coach Mike Anderson put the Tigers through practice this afternoon.
Anderson led Mizzou to a school record 31 wins last season. Missing from that team are Deamarre Carroll who is now in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, Leo Lyons and Matt Lawrence. The coach says this team is ready to play an opponent.
"I think our guys are getting ready to play somebody other than ourselves. When you start including the black and gold scrimmage, we've had a couple of scrimmages where we've brought in officials to hopefully try to clean it up, so I guess they are an I am anxious to see to see us against someone other than ourselves," said Missouri Basketball Coach Mike Anderson.
"We have a very good shot of doing very well this season, we have 10 guys back from last year so we know how hard we have to work and the bond we need to go far. And I think we instilled that in the younger players so we going to be all right," said Missouri sr. guard JT. Tiller
