MOKANE--  This week's fan in the stands has  a bond that's built on love.

This week's Fan in the Stands takes us to South Callaway where sometimes a mother's love is the perfect recipe for success.

For Heidi Powers, watching her youngest son Levi play his senior year is bittersweet. But she knows he's better off because of football.

“He's improved over the years and continues to do better, and the coach really brings it out in him, my son really respects the coach that we have this year, and I owe a lot of that to him. It's made my son a better person, the whole team has made my son a better person and I’m proud of that,” said South Callaway senior mom, Heidi Powers.

In South Callaway it's sometimes a different team that makes the most noise. It is a band of mothers with a bark every bulldog can appreciate.

“Our mothers here do an outstanding job, we dedicate one game of the year for our mothers, and they wear their son’s jerseys to the game, and they stand on the front of the fence and cheer." said High school Principal, Troy Clawson.

"It's truly a family atmosphere around our football program."

And for Powers, she knows that just because her son's a senior, she won't be leaving the bulldog's backyard any time soon.

"I could say that I’m going to miss it next year when he's not here, but I’ll still be here, I’m sure he'll still come back for the ball games, because like i said, we're a family, and it's going to continue on." Said Powers.

It is a family guided by a spirit, of motherly love.

The Bulldogs begin playoff action tomorrow night when they visit the undefeated and number one ranked Centrailia Panthers.
