Suzanne Becket is one mom who uses her creativity to make a few bucks on the side. Beckett runs Anna's Attic, a boutique that sells everything from bows to bags. Ironically, she named the business after her daughter, even though it allows her to do something for herself separate from caring for her children.

"You can always just start small with little things and then just build from there. I mean, that's exactly what I did, not that my business is anything huge, but it's something I enjoy," Becket said.

Stay-at-home moms and business entrepreneurs showcased all of their creative outlets including recreating t-shirts as well as photography.

Amy Sprouse, a mother of three, started Do-Over T's, a company that tailors sporting event t-shirts into a more fashionable shape.

"We were looking for something to stimulate our mind so we decided a home-based business was a great way to go because we could cater it around our kids' needs," Sprouse said.

One attendee said this is a good way to help the local economy.

"I think it's a good thing because they can give the product cheaper to the buyer because they make it here locally," shopper Dawn ORR said.

Freedom, family, and funds is what one featured photographer said she gains from her side business.

"It allows you the freedom to still be the mom, and be involved, and do the field trips and things like that, but also to bring a little income in," Brandy Taylor said.

Moms at the expo said their children are always their first priority, but their mom-trepeneur-ship is bringing them a new bundle of joy.
