University Hospital reported an unresponsive child arrived at the hospital on Wednesday. All efforts to save the 2-year-old were not successful. According to a police report, the child had multiple suspicious injuries. No cause of death has been identified.

Police and family members identified Horace Johnson, 25, as the father of the victim. The police report stated that Johnson may have been responsible for some of the injuries to the child.

Police say they have found Johnson's car in Central Columbia, but he is still at large.
